WHAT TO EXPECT
Pursuing Therapy should not be a traumatic experience and I aim to make all individuals who walk through my door as comfortable as possible whilst not avoiding the difficulties or important encounters that could assist them in their personal growth and / or healing process. Clients can look forward to a professional, however, tranquil and supportive environment.
Any information, personal and other, discussed during sessions is completely confidential. This, however, becomes null and void should any information be unlawful and/or indicates harm towards the client or other.
As sessions occur on an appointment basis, it is not possible to extend the allotted time set aside for a session. Should you be late for a session without making any prior arrangements timeously, the relevant session will end at the scheduled time.
Therapy is a highly individual and tailor-made process and therefore number of sessions can vary. Each client differs and presents varied anxieties and personal therapeutic goals, therefore the length and number of sessions can fluctuate. This will be discussed throughout therapy.
The individual responsible for the payment of the account will be liable to pay the fee of a full session.
Therapy sessions vary depending on the age of the client and / or size of the group:
- Younger clients are usually between 15 to 30 minutes long
- Adults and adolescents are usually 45 minutes long
- Couples are usually 1 to 1.5 hours long
- Group sessions are usually between 1.5 to 2 hours long
Clients can submit their invoices to their Medical Aid for reimbursement. Please note clients require an ICD-10-CODE (Diagnostic Code) on their invoice, as should this not be indicated, the claim will be declined and fees paid for psychological services from your Medical Aid Fund will not be reimbursed.
Psychotherapy session fees fall outside medical aid rates and increase annually. Annual increases are effective from January. The fee for psychotherapy is determined by the nature of the intervention required (i.e. individual, couple, group or familial).
This is strictly a cash practice. Fees lie outside of medical aid rates. Attention is given to individual circumstances and discussions around fees are encouraged.
Fees for each session must be paid at the conclusion of the appointment. Only Cash, Debit and Credit Card Payments will be accepted. Cheques are not accepted.
